Bashar
assumed the role of Board Member at NatHealth Palestine in 2015 representing Al
Wataniya Towers Company’s interest in the company. During the same year, he joined the executive
team and held the role of General Manager of NatHealth after concluding a
five-year stint as Deputy General Manager at National Insurance Company. During
his tenure as GM, he was able to introduce and standardize the usage of its
proprietary e-claim system by Health Care Providers, tackle various communication
challenges with insurers (locally and abroad), and solidify NatHealth’s
standing as the largest Third-Party Administrator of healthcare claims within
Palestine. In October 2022, Bashar assumed the role of General Manager of
National Insurance Company having served as it’s Vice Chairman from 2017 till
October 2022. He has also served as Chairman of Al Wataniya Towers Company and
has served in multiple committees at NatHealth, Al Wataniya Towers Company and
NIC.
Bashar
has completed his ACII certification from the Chartered Insurance Institute and
holds a Six Sigma Black Belt which he gained during his stint at GE Capital
where he progressed from being a Quality Project Manager to running the Risk
Operations team at the GE Capital’s Irish business. He managed several projects
aimed at streamlining collections methods to redesigning risk score cards and
sales force effectiveness dashboards and techniques. In 2008 he was moved to a
managerial role and given responsibility for several risk operations teams
managing great challenges during the banking crisis of 2008. Bashar holds the GE Europe award for the
Treating Customers Fairly initiative which committed all GE Capital businesses
to working with transparency with customers. He was also a frequent Lean Six
Sigma trainer both for Green and Yellow Belt candidates.
